What this page is for
Most images you save from the web now arrive as .webp. Browsers handle them; plenty of other software does not, including many application forms, print services and older office apps.
This page converts them to plain JPGs in bulk, in your browser.
The rule: who accepts WebP
Safari has read WebP since version 14 and every current Chrome, Edge and Firefox reads it. Forms and services that list "JPG or PNG only" do not accept it, and some desktop tools open it without preserving quality.
The output is a standard sRGB JPG. Transparency becomes white. An animated WebP converts to its first frame only.
Worked example
Twelve product images saved from a shop, 40 to 90 KB each as WebP. At quality 92 they become JPGs of roughly 80 to 200 KB each, ready for a form that only takes JPG.
How to use it
- Tap Choose files and select the .webp images.
- Pick a quality, and a cap if needed.
- Tap Convert to JPG.
- Download each JPG.
Questions
What happens to animated WebP?
Only the first frame is kept. For animation, save it as a GIF or video instead.
Why is the JPG larger?
WebP compresses better than JPG. A larger JPG at the same visual quality is normal.
Is transparency kept?
No, it becomes white, because JPG has no transparency.
Is anything uploaded?
No.
Related tools
Sizes and results are estimates produced by your own browser. A file that fits the cap is not a guarantee that the destination will accept it: services change their limits, and some check more than size. On iPhone and iPad, Safari limits memory and codecs, so large files can fail there that work on a computer. Keep your original file.
